The short version
- We don't send you a bill for our service.
- The energy or water supplier you sign with pays us a commission.
- That commission is built into the price you pay the supplier. It's added as an uplift on your unit rate (pence per kWh) and/or your standing charge (pence per day).
- So our service is not free. You pay for it through your rates.
How commission works
When we arrange a contract for you, the supplier adds an amount to the rates in that contract. The supplier passes that amount to us as our commission. The amount you pay depends on how much energy you use and how long the contract runs. The more energy you use, the more commission is paid.
Commission can vary by supplier and contract. Ask us and we'll tell you how much is included in any quote, so you can compare like for like.
What we'll always tell you
- That we're paid by commission, before you agree to a contract.
- The amount of commission included in your quote, on request.
- Which suppliers we asked for prices.
Your supplier may also show broker costs on your contract or bills.
Any other fees?
We don't charge any separate fees for any of our services. That includes energy audits, kVA reviews and water bill reviews.
